Shiitakes

At last following some damp, cold weather, our shiitake log burst into life after a year of dormancy and snide remarks from us. How amazing to have freshly grown mushrooms

My tea tastes funny

Clockwise: Maurice, Mustafa, Poirot, Chaplin. New mugs in fine bone china avec fine facial embellishments.
Merci for the birthday moola Anette. It's been well spent.

Momas Fete de Fleurs

Landy gets an afternoon of flirting under the shade of an old tree, whilst we visit the Fete De Fleurs at Chateau Momas

The allée leading to the house was stacked with stalls from local growers

Elaine pondering purchases. And yes, we purchased a Portuguese beefsteak tomato, a black cherry tomato, a bronze heurecha, and several brilliant ground-cover euphorbias

We ate Taloas, a basque corn pancake, filled with melted local goats cheese

And churros, amazing dipped in strong black French coffee

Chateau Momas is a dramatic garden centered on heirloom plants with a purpose: medicinal, or edible. But many of the vendors brought wild exotics for sale

As usual, we got our Nanna fix from Madame Momas

She must be in her 90's and still tears around the garden with absolute knowledge on every plant there
