Sunday Run

This week's Sunday run took place next to the Pic du Midi d'Ossau, 21k around some lakes and through spring snow.
The route included running across this dam, with it's incredible scenery

No need for a Camelbak up here

The trails were well covered, but there were plenty of snowshoe tracks to follow

I found a bothy, but unfortunately there was no-one inside brewing coffee

The eventual elevation was 1,822m, but it was warm and sunny, and absolutely silent

Happy Birthdays indeed

For Elaine and Lucius's birthdays on the 23rd, we headed through the Vallée d'Ossau to a fine spot with spectacular views

We settled down with blankets, and a picnic of wine, soup, salads, cheeses and fresh bread

And of course, tea and cake (carrot cake made by Lucius and Papa)

We then took a walk, and even found a little snow for folicking

Sunday Run

Today I ran around some trails on a hill that we can see from our house (on the right of the image below). I couldn't get to the top ridge, despite trying a few different routes, as the clouds were thick and the incline was more than a pair of running shoes could hang on to. I had an ace time regardless
